The Movement Screen · make the invisible visible

What's Actually Holding Your Body Back?

The Movement-First Performance Analysis: 25 tests, 6 categories, 90 minutes, over Zoom. It makes the invisible visible. Think of it like bloodwork — you get it done to find out what's actually going on before it becomes a crisis.

You'd never skip bloodwork.

Every year, millions of people get bloodwork done — not because they feel sick, but because the stuff most likely to hurt you later doesn't announce itself early. You find out through the data, before it becomes a crisis. Here's what's strange: we do that for our blood chemistry, but almost nobody does it for how their body moves. And for adults over 40, movement is where the hidden risks actually live.

Most injuries after 40 aren't accidents. A hip that 'just feels tight' for two years becomes a labrum tear. A shoulder that gets sore after every overhead movement turns out to have almost no external rotation. A lower back that blows out on a hike — not because of the hike, but because the body's been compensating for years and nobody caught it. None of that is bad luck. It was visible beforehand. There is no 'out of nowhere.' There's just unseen.

A structured assessment of how your body actually moves.

Not how it looks. Not how much you can lift. How it actually functions across the full range of things it's supposed to be able to do. Done via Zoom or in person, scored across balance, breathing, mobility, stability, strength, and cardio endurance.

How long can you hang?

A dead hang tests grip strength, shoulder health, and decompression — one of the better longevity predictors we have for the upper body.

Can you get off the floor without using your hands?

The Sitting-Rising Test has been linked in research to all-cause mortality — not because the floor is dangerous, but because getting up independently reflects full-body mobility, stability, and strength in a way almost nothing else does.

Those are 2 of the 25. In practice, most adults land somewhere between 40 and 60 out of 75 points. The score isn't the point — what it reveals is where you're compensating, what's at highest risk, and what to fix first.
